Flood events are becoming more frequent and can have catastrophic effects. The Environment Agency estimates that the average cost of damage suffered by businesses during a flood event is around £82,000. As many as 40 per cent of businesses never reopen after being flooded, and a further 25 per cent of businesses that do reopen go on to fail within a year. The Flood Innovation Centre wants to help businesses understand their own flood risk and develop an action plan to:

-Bounce back more quickly after a flood.
We will present case studies from individuals and businesses who have survived a major flood event and the measures they have put into place to cope with future flood risk. You will also gain insights into issues and solutions around flooding and business insurance.
The Flood Innovation Centre will also introduce our new funded service that helps eligible organisations understand the steps they might take to protect their premises, and give themselves a fighting chance of surviving future flooding events.
