Help your business seize the opportunities for growth in the Property Flood Resilience Market.

Join us on this webinar, run by the University of Hull’s Flood Innovation Centre to help your business seize the opportunities for growth in the Property Flood Resilience (PFR) market.

The Flood Innovation Centre has been established to support SMEs to develop new products and services, helping communities become more flood resilient.

Innovate in a rapidly growing market

Climate change means that major flood events are going to happen more frequently, so the market for flood resilience products is growing rapidly.

In recent years, the Humber region has been hit by several major flooding incidents. In 2020, there are 5.2 million homes and businesses at risk of flooding in England.

The National Flood and Coastal Erosion Risk Management Strategy for England outlines that “A greater take up of property flood resilience could help to significantly reduce flood risk for individual property owners. The long-term investment scenarios show the potential for an estimated 200,000 homes in England to be fitted with property flood resilience over the next 50 years (Environment Agency, 2019a).”

The strategy also cites the need for “individuals, communities, the third sector, businesses, farmers, land managers and infrastructure providers to contribute to planning and adapting to future flooding and coastal change.”

The Flood Innovation Centre is working closely with regional initiatives like Defra’s Yorkshire Property Flood Resilience Pathfinder and the Living with Water partnership to support our communities with this adaptation.
